cause it is not. I do also realize that most shops will not give a warranty on race motors let alone race parts.
I was saying that because I would guesstimate that SGP's motor warranty rate has to be up around that figure but I do not know. It just seems as though so many people have had issues but I am sure there are others that were fine too.
A %5 warranty rate would be acceptable and like you said, that even would suck if you are the builder. Nothing is %100. The worst part about the whole motor build scenario is that there is so many variables about motor failure which Kyle stated earlier and I believe you did as well.
I believe the one main variable is the installer is normally different from the builder. God knows what rules the installer follows when putting the motor in, not including his break in procedure, his knowledge of the install/experience, shortcuts he took, etc. Another main variable is the parts the customer chose to do the build. (ie: which turbo, which injector, and/or did he choose some no name fmic or injector which is not even close to the spec needed for his build-running too much boost for a 370cc inj, etc)
I believe all these along with the cleanliness of the build also are key to this process. It just seems as though we are always hearing the bad things that have happened with built motors and like a couple of you had said, you only hear the bad ones. I wanted to see if there has been people with over 60-70k and now their is a few so thats a good start and like you and Aliaz said, you both are the builder and also the installer which is just about foolproof.
